D-Xhird

Review by: Michael Tham

For those of you who are wondering how to pronounce the name of the game its 'd-third'

And now for a short straight to the point review :

Graphics : 6/10

Since Toh Shinden Remix, Takara has yet been able to harness Saturn's power. The characters' movements are very rigid and not smooth. Some of the backgrounds are plain boring, esp Karen's stage.

Music and FX 7/10

The music has a very Toshinden feel and is OK but nothing outstanding. The character voices are also OK but lack personality. The best thing about this game

Gameplay 3/10

And now to the most important part of the game, how does it play? Terribly. And here's why :

1) no balance, some characters have 4 hit combos where all the moves will connect after the first one and cause big damage while some characters have combos that cannot connect
2) some of the moves a TOO SLOW to come out and you can see them a mile away
3) no depth. This applies to all the Takara games. ZZZZZZZZZZ
4) rigid control.
5) very little moves that hit middle, so most of the time you're blocking low
6) did i mention that the gameplay sux?

replay value : 6/10

The only reason i finished the game with all the characters was to see the endings and the character artwork. Its very hard to have a fair 2 player fight and lack of depth hurts the game very much

Last word : forget this game. This is the type of game that gives Saturn a bad name. Get Last Bronx. If you have any questions, mail me or look for me on the undernet at #segachat
